Land Development Engineer (4)
NJ-Northern, NJ-Central, NJ-Southern, PA-Philadelphia, PA-Suburb

Candidate should be a civil engineer with a BSCE (masters a plus), PE (PA required, other states desired), and at least 8 years of experience in land development projects. This position requires experience with mentoring staff, performing quality reviews, and management of multidiscipline land development projects. Candidate must have good proposal writing and pricing skills, as well as strong client interaction and marketing skills. Other duties include supporting the operations manager on land development projects and business development duties. This position will provide senior technical leadership on multi-disciplined projects involving staff in various offices.

Job Title: Civil Engineer Description: As part of the Civil Engineering Department, you will work on various project types, including:

  • Residential subdivisions
  • Commercial land developments
  • Institutional land developments (i.e., schools)
  • Stormwater As-built Analysis
Because you may be involved in several projects at one time, involving several team members (such as project manager, engineer, and a CAD technician), we need good communicators, able to multi-task, and work well with others.

Duties: Work under the direction of the Department Manager in completing the following tasks for specific projects:

  • Stormwater management
  • Site design
  • Site utilities
  • Land development plans
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plan
  • Site Grading

Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

AutoCAD Two years experience in related civil engineering work Communication skills are emphasized, as we need to work effectively as a team and relate to the client.


Job Title: Civil Project Manager

Description: In this role you will manage multiple clients and their projects, while adhering to contract requirements, company values, and demonstrating both technical and business excellence.

It is particularly important that project managers have superior communication skills. Project managers must be self-starters and team players. Their skills must include a solid knowledge of client relations, staff development, delegation of responsibility, and ability to mentor subordinates and junior engineers.

Duties:

  • Prepare project proposals, contracts, reports, and specifications
  • Establish project schedules, deadlines, and budgets
  • Coordinate project staffing requirements and direct the project team members
  • Check accuracy and approve all completed work. (Project managers are responsible for engineering design, plans, and specifications.)
  • Maintain profitable performance for each project
  • Mentor and assist in developing junior staff members
  • Establish client contacts for all projects
  • Participate in business development as it occurs during the course of projects
  • Cooperate with administrative personnel on reports, scheduling, and staffing

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Professional Engineer License
  • Minimum of eight years progressive experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in site grading and storm water management
  • Knowledge of roads and earthwork design
  • Ability to attend (or conduct) night and weekend meetings and presentations


Engineers: Civil/Environmental With Land Development Experience

We are looking for engineers with experience in municipal engineering, site development, and stormwater management to work on conventional and low impact development projects. We are looking for engineers who are energetic and self-starters who want to design low impact developments with innovative concepts and stormwater BMPs. We are looking for engineers with three or more years of experience and a PE license, although we will consider candidates with less experience. We are looking for engineers who want to grow professionally and be in the forefront of new and innovative technology.

SURVEYING

CAD Technician - Land Development Department - minimum 2 years experience in related technical field of study or work experience in subdivision/land development plan preparation. Must be proficient in AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Version 3 or 2004.

Survey Crew Party Chief - Survey Department - Minimum 5 years experience as Party Chief with all facets of survey. Excellent salary/benefits available.

Instrument Operator - Survey Department - Minimum 2 years experience or survey-related education.

Engineer - Water/Wastewater Department - 5+ years experience with emphasis in water system modeling and design, water and wastewater pump station and treatment plant design, construction document preparation and plan review. Excellent organizational, oral and writing skills a must. AutoCAD/computer proficiency required. PE required.

Engineer - Municipal Engineering Department - 5+ years experience, including review of Subdivision/Land Development Plans. Experience in the design of public works projects and preparation of construction related documents. Excellent organizational, oral and writing skills required. Professional registration required.

Project Manager - Land Development Department - 5+ years experience in the design of Subdivision/Land Development projects. Professional registration required. Excellent oral and writing skills required. Experience with project presentation at public meetings required.

Design Engineer - Land Development Department - 2 to 4 years experience in Subdivision/Land Development design. Familiarity with approval process required. EIT/FE required.
